All exploration - both external and internal - is a quest for truth. It is gravitation towards deeper awareness and higher evolution. It is an act of personal growth which brings us closer to the essence of existence. For those who are willing to take the risk, the life of a traveler is a spiritual journey filled with priceless experience and internal reward.
There are two fundamental forces which operate in the universe - creation and destruction. Although on the surface these seem to be contradictory, at a deeper level they together contribute to the most basic process of existence - the process of evolution. The universe has, is, and will forever continue to be in a constant state of evolving. All events that take place in space, on earth, in the water etc. have this fundamental process at their core. Regardless of positive or negative characteristics, all events occur to contribute to the growing complexity of existence. What may seem on the surface to be an event of tragic qualities is ultimately a necessary and natural process of balancing within the forces of nature. For example, a virus which invades our body from the outside may be an unfortunate circumstance for us, but for the virus our body provides the nutrients it needs to survive and flourish. In essense, we can look at all of the events in the world as conforming to this law. Once we can achieve insight into this fundamental truth, we will be much closer to understanding the reality of things (as detrimental as a specific situation may be to us personally).
Competition between individuals and societies. The battle of nature versus mankind. Each of these are different manifestations of the same fundamental process which is natures balancing act. When we begin to view nature as a balancing act then everything can be accounted for. Each event or specific element of existence becomes merely a part of the whole process, instead of standing alone and uneffected by all other parts. The way by which we come to the realization of this truth is by exploring the world more deeply (mentally and physically) until this fact becomes realized.
So, all of our pursuits should be directed at obtaining higher knowledge of the world through observation and exploration. The more we observe and explore, the closer we will come to an understanding of this higher reality which exists around us every moment. As our understanding of the world grows we come closer and closer to the ultimate reality and our connection to it.
Let us begin the development of skills which will enable us to explore the world more deeply so that we may attain ever higher states of awareness...
